Welcome

Originally known as PermaPave, our journey began in 2015 as suppliers of washed & dried specialist aggregates and polyurethane resin binders to contractors as small part of a larger landscaping product range.

Our headquarters in Chesterfield, Derbyshire housed five employees who worked tirelessly to establish the brand in the UK resin bound gravel sector, introducing hundreds of landscapers to this innovative surfacing, focusing on the unrivalled permeability, low-maintenance and wide range of colour options available.

Permeable Bound paving

With increasing issues surrounding flooding thanks to climate change, urban creep and a huge national housebuilding programme it is now more important than ever before that we deal with rainfall and surface water at the source.

At PERMABOUND we specialise in the manufacture and distribution of materials which can be used to create surfaces which are not just attractive and eco-friendly, but also permeable.

Permeability is at the very heart of what we do.

First developed in 2015 under the original name of PermaPave, we began pairing polyurethane binders with carefully selected washed and dried aggregates. We were one of the first suppliers to recommend installation of resin bound gravel on to a plastic ground reinforcement grid.

Supplying resin bound materials across the country to contractors, our original range contained 14 aggregate blends and only supplied non-UV resin binders.

Our reputation as one of the region’s leading suppliers of resin bound materials was quickly established and the need to grow was recognised.

Initial Expansion

With our success through 2015 and facing increased demand for our products, we moved PermaPave into new premises to enable us to carry larger stocks, increase the product range and dispatch orders more effectively.

During 2016 our personnel headcount grew to 9, including additional warehouse operatives and the first dedicated resin bound gravel sales specialist.

The product range grew to include an offering of tools and machinery, as well as being the first resin bound supplier to offer forced action mixer hire nationwide.

2016

Rubber mulch

The first range of PermaPave rubber mulch products are launched, helping to widen the range of products suitable for playgrounds, schools, care homes and more.

Rubber mulch proves highly popular with playgrounds due to the vibrant colours, natural appearance and safety credentials.

2018

First Vehicle

As the benefits of resin bound gravel become more well-known within the construction sector, the demand for PermaPave products continues.

In order to help service local demand for products, we acquired an 18-tonne curtainsider MAN truck, complete with 2-tonne tail-lift and electric-powered pallet truck.

2019

Range widens & Mobile Shop

The product range grows larger still with the introduction of the collection of innovative new trowel products from The Resin Bull, the first resin bound specific brand for contractors.

Along with trowels, Dural edging profiles and Ox Tools also join the offering, widening the product range to around 500 lines.

PermaPave continues to help support local contractors by launching the first mobile shop, utilising a specially converted Peugeot Boxer van with a stock of tools, resins, catalysts, accessories and mixer spares.

Capable of investigating and repairing forced action mixers faults on-site, the mobile shop proves highly popular with local contractors.

2020

Premises Expansion

Due to the ongoing success of PermaPave products in both the local area and nationally, we move into a brand-new 30,000ft² warehouse, giving us the ability to carry larger stocks, dispatch more orders per day and continue to serve a diverse range of resins, aggregates, rubber products and machinery.

2021

PERMABOUND rebrand & Soft Gravel

To better reflect the product range and company ethos, PermaPave becomes PERMABOUND.

Soft Gravel collection is launched, pairing SBR rubber granulate with decorative stone to create a flexible, durable and permeable paving solution for pathways, ideal for golf clubs and the urban built environment, such as in tree pits.

2022

PERMABOUND Training Launched

Supporting contractors who are looking to diversify into resin bound surfacing, we launched our first training course.

Both practical and theoretical, the hands-on course is well-received by installers and achieves over 90% booking rate in the first year.
